Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ClaimRight ("the App"), operated by Britannia Digital Limited ("we", "us", "our"), handles your information when you use our mobile application on iOS and Android.

Summary: ClaimRight does not collect or store any personal data. All answers you provide are processed on your device only. If you choose to enter a postcode, it is sent solely to postcodes.io — a public UK lookup service — to identify your local council. ClaimRight does not store your postcode or use it for any other purpose. When you close the app, your answers are cleared.

1. Who We Are

ClaimRight is operated by Britannia Digital Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Our contact details are provided at the end of this page.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect or store any personal data.

The App asks you a series of questions about your circumstances — such as your age, employment status, and housing situation — in order to estimate which UK government benefits you may be entitled to. These answers are:

We do not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, or any identifying information to use ClaimRight.

Postcode (optional): If you choose to enter your postcode, it is sent to postcodes.io — a free, open-source public API service used widely by UK government and NHS services — solely to identify your local council. Your postcode is not stored by ClaimRight and is not used for any other purpose. postcodes.io does not require user accounts and does not track individual users. If you prefer not to use this feature, you may skip the postcode step entirely.

3. How the App Works

ClaimRight uses your answers to run a local eligibility check against publicly available UK government benefit rules. All of this logic runs within the App on your device. The results screen shows which benefits you may be entitled to and provides a direct link to the relevant gov.uk page where you can learn more and apply.

When you tap "Learn more on gov.uk", you are directed to the official UK Government website (www.gov.uk), which has its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. We have no control over and no visibility of your activity on gov.uk.

4. Data Storage and Security

Because no personal data is collected or stored on our systems, there is nothing held on our servers. Your answers exist only in your device's temporary memory while the App is open and are cleared when you close it or tap "Start Again".

5. Third-Party Services

ClaimRight does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The App does not contain advertising of any kind.

The external services involved are:

6. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

Because we do not hold any personal data about you, most UK GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) do not apply in practice — there is simply no data to act on.

If you have any questions about how your information is handled, you are welcome to contact us at the address below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

7. Children's Privacy

ClaimRight is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. As the App collects no personal data at all, there is no risk of children's data being stored.

8. Accuracy of Results

ClaimRight provides benefit estimates based on the answers you give and publicly available UK government eligibility rules and rates (currently 2024/25). Results are indicative only and do not constitute legal or financial advice. Benefit rules and rates change regularly — always verify your eligibility directly on gov.uk before applying for any benefit.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the ClaimRight mobile application, operated by Britannia Digital Limited. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Purpose of the App

ClaimRight is an information tool designed to help UK residents identify which government benefits they may be entitled to, based on answers to a short questionnaire. The App is provided free of charge to end users.

2. Not Legal or Financial Advice

The results produced by ClaimRight are estimates only. They are based on publicly available UK government benefit rules and rates (currently 2024/25) and the information you provide. They do not constitute legal advice, financial advice, or a formal determination of entitlement.

You should always verify your eligibility directly on www.gov.uk, or by seeking advice from Citizens Advice, your local council, or a qualified benefits adviser before applying for any benefit.

3. Accuracy of Information

We make every reasonable effort to keep the benefit rules and rates within the App up to date. However, UK benefit rules change frequently — typically each April. Britannia Digital Limited does not warrant that the information in the App is complete, current, or error-free at all times.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Britannia Digital Limited shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from:

5. External Links

The App contains links to external websites, including GOV.UK, local council websites, and other government portals. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or privacy practices of those websites. Links are provided for your convenience only.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and materials within the ClaimRight App are the intellectual property of Britannia Digital Limited. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our written permission.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
